Toronto’s HotDocs film festival has launched an online version for the public in Ontario from May 28 to June 6, setting the stage for what other major Canadian and international film festivals could do facing COVID-19 pandemic. Run on the festival’s website hotdocs.ca, streaming of selected films was geo-blocked to the province because of the online rights limitations. 135 long films and 45 short films were in the selection.
