Journalist and documentary filmmaker Alessandro Melazzini was born 1974 in Sondrio, Italy. After graduation in economics from the Università Luigi Bocconi di Milano, he received a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Heidelberg. Since 1999, he lives and works in Munich, Germany. As German-Italian , he is member of the German Documentary Association (AG DOK) and the German Federation of Journalists (DJV). In 2003, he worked as a freelance culture correspondent, and in 2010 as a director and producer of documentary films with his production company Alpenway Media GmbH.
For his merits as a migrant entrepreneur the city of Munich has awarded him the PhönixPreis and the German Embassy in Italy presents him as a testimonial.
His directorial filmography includes MUNICH, ITALY. STORIES OF ARRIVALS IN GERMANY (2011), LA CICCIOLINA. GODMOTHER OF SCANDAL (2016) and THE LEGACY OF THE CISTERCIANS (2019).
